For an event, I suggest starting the ads about 4-5 weeks before. But these are really tough to get profitable with ads unfortunately. I suggest trying to build up an email list as much as possible to promote events, rather than rely on ads :)
nice post Ben, you always have links to valuable posts i'd never find and give me a look into the indie digital marking world that isn't in my regular feed
Love this! And I’ve never heard of it described as the Bullshit Industrial Complex, but that’s an amazing description. The thing I keep reminding myself of lately is that building an audience for the sake of building an audience isn’t the goal. Putting out good, valuable work is what matters, and also the only bit I can actually control!
I liked that description too, haha. I have a hunch that you're right - focusing on the valuable work is a better play than building social aimlessly. I think we can all see the difference when somebody is building something useful in public vs just trying to get followed!
I keep thinking one day I will use ads but I'd have to sit still long enough to finish something... 😂
I'm coming to look you up when Postcard Fest is ready.
How much in advance of an event date should I start ads?
DM me whenever you're ready!

Oh yeah for sure that's what I'm working on now still and ads at the end for the kickoff. I think it will be okay and I'll reach out as we approach.

Thanks for the feature Ben!
Much more work ahead :) looking forward to your progress and launch of hype deck!
Thanks mate!
Hey Ben, your last link to https://course.benjaminboman.com/ does not seem to be working.
Hey Paul, thanks for letting me know! Thought that was fast to fix but it's not for me...
Here's the main link in the meantime https://benjaminboman.gumroad.com/l/facebook-lead-ads-accelerator
Interesting to see you might be interested in lead ads on Meta, though.
